Well when the sweet tooth hits, its time to switch it up and replace sugar.

Healthier Sugar replacements like Stevia, Monk fruit, Xylitol, and Allulose are all good options.

They make them in liquid, powder or granulated form, so you can easily sweeten things like coffee or tea.

You can also bake with them, creating delicious and fun things, like cake, cookies, and pancakes..

Healthier sweeteners are just as sweet or sweeter than sugar, so taste is not sacrificed.

All baked goods, frosting and syrup items can be made with replacement sweeteners and low carb flour like almond flour.

Keto Treat Options

“Keto” snacks, like health bars, candy, cookies and ice cream (ooh yea, keto ice cream!) can be a blast.

But not all item’s that say “Keto” are very low carb, so you have to check the back label to make sure.

And they can get confusing, because sweeteners like Erythritol and Allulose show up on the label as a Carbohydrate though they don’t actually raise the blood sugar.

Also, to get a carb total, you subtract the fiber & sugar alcohols from the total carbohydrates, thus leaving you with the “Net Carbs.” You will often see items on the front of a label telling you how many net carbs it has, but a slightly controversial topic regarding the different types of fiber has brought into question the overall accuracy of this.

Another thing to look for in the ingredients list is vegetable oil’s which often show up in these items and can cause inflammation which is related to most diseases.

Sugar alcohol’s seen on the back of a label should also be considered, as too much can cause an upset stomach, or turn into a laxative. Different people have different sensitivities to these items.

And though these products can be low carb, they most often are NOT low calorie, so don’t over do it or you may just pack on the pounds you were trying to loose.

Ending with this thought, that with whatever low carb sweet you try, remember it’s a good idea to treat it like a regular desert where you only have some in moderation.

When gulping down things like sodas and energy drinks, remember, they often have a ton of sugar, so going to the Zero, Diet or flavored water option would be a major improvement.

But you don’t want to over do that stuff either as they have chemicalized (artificial) sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose, and saccharin which can be unhealthy in the long run.

However, there are brands that use healthier sweetner’s, like Zevia, Virgils, and Reeds . . . 🤙

Not all fried food’s are bad, you just gotta use the right stuff to fry in, like beef tallow or lard.
